Byron Bay High School staff profiles

The best aspect of being a teacher is that you are consistently centred in new learning. This new learning does not begin and end with school but expands our personal lives.

Our new learning shapes the people we are and the capacity for innovation and creativity. Below our wonderful staff share their journey of lifelong learning.

Ms Janine Marcus | Always with a novel to read, art, dancing and last year completed Yoga teacher training.

Ms Donna Riley | Life Saver on our beaches, competes in Life Saving events, long distance hiking, rides a motorbike.

Mr Warren Lee | Growing fruits and vegetables, producing coffee, keeping chickens, producing honey with own beehives. Taking this fresh produce and making sauces and delicious dishes.

Ms Leanne Croft | It’s about creativity: learning to create with yarn through the art of macrame, one pot hanger at a time! Reigniting my connection to textiles.

Mr Tristam Horn | I enjoy learning how things work, this usually means pulling stuff apart and hopefully putting it back together in one piece. I love gadgets, new technology and working with others to solve problems. In my spare time I like to play guitar, go on multi-day hikes and take nature photos.

Mr Stuart Galletly | Learning how to grow things is an ongoing passion of mine, spending time with my children outside is one of my favourite things to do. I also enjoy making things, especially if I can eat them! Perfecting sourdough may well be a lifelong learning experience.
