Driving and parking
The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside our school.
Our school shares Arakwal Court with St Finbarr's Catholic Primary School, and the school zone gets very busy during peak drop-off and pick-up periods.
If you are driving to school, we ask that you drop-off and pick-up your child in the designated 'Kiss and Ride' area at the top of the cul-de-sac on Arawkal Court and move on. There are minimal carpark spaces down the centre of Arakwal Court if you need to get out of your car.
When driving and parking near our school, please:
-
ensure you drop your child off safely in the school zone
-
follow speed signs
-
do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school
-
only park in designated parking spaces on Arakwal Court
-
do not block buses or park in the bus bays
-
do not bring your car into the Byron Bay High School or St Finbarr's staff carparks during peak times.
Parking on school grounds
All staff, students, parents and visitors who bring their vehicles onto school property do so at their own risk. The school takes no responsibility for incidents or damage sustained to your car whilst on school grounds.

Bikes and e-bikes
Students who ride push bikes and e-bikes to school are permitted to secure their bikes to the racks along the basketball courts. Due to fire safely regulations e-bikes must not be parked near a building.
We urge parents and carers to have regular conversations with their children about the rules for e-bike use. Please ensure your child understands the following:
- E-bikes must not exceed a speed of 25 km/hr
- Helmets must always be worn
- Using a bell when approaching pedestrians is important
- Extra care and attention must be provided when riding on public roads and shared pathways
- Road rules are to be obeyed at all times
- All road users and pedestrians must be treated with respect
For more information about e-bike safety, please visit the NSW Government’s page:
