Bell times
Our school day is structured around a clear timetable. We have set times for learning sessions, activities, recess and lunch. Understanding the bell times helps students get the most out of each part of the day.
It's important for students to arrive on time each day. Every school day at Byron Bay High School starts at 9 am. Students are expected to be in their Period 1 class at 9 am for roll call.
If your child arrives at school after 9 am, they will need to stop at the office to sign in before proceeding to class. If they do not sign in, they will be marked absent for the whole day and you will receive an Absence sms.

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the school day finishes at 3:30pm.
On Wednesday's, Years 7-10 Sport finishes at 3:10 pm to allow students time to return to school for afternoon school buses home. On Wednesday's our Senior students are permitted to leave school at lunch time for independent study at home.
Need help with attendance?
Students are required to attend school on each day the school is open. It is the responsibility of students and their parents/carers to ensure that students attend school regularly.
