Excursions
Excursions may be classified as any activity which is a variation of normal school routine. They may involve attendance or participation in a performance, sporting event, academic or social activity.
Excursions are legitimate components of educational programs when planned in line with the stated aims of the whole school. The potential outcomes of excursions are compared with the proven educational outcomes of other teaching strategies available in order to ensure that they are legitimate and necessary. Excursions can be unparalleled learning experiences.
School uniform must be worn unless specified by the organising teacher.
Information regarding excursions and permission notes will be emailed home to parents and will include details regarding due dates for payment, insurance and medical information.
Online permission and payment
All information regarding excursions and sporting events will come from our School Bytes event and finance system.
What you need to do
- Check your email junk box and be sure to mark the email address noreply@mail.schoolbytes.education as a SAFE SENDER.
- If you give online consent for your child to attend an excursion please have a conversation with your child so they are clear they are attending.
- You are able to add excursion events to your calendar, or print them for your fridge using the blue icons at the top of the online permission form.
Payments
When payments are required you will be sent an email containing an easy online payment link from School Bytes (see above).
1 | You will be required to give online consent in addition to the payment.
2 | Students can also pay with cash, cheque or card at the front office after online consent has been given.
3 | Phone payments are no longer possible.
4 | If you have paid online, the online permission must also be given. Payment alone does NOT guarantee a place.
5 | Online permission and payment is cut off two days prior to all events and excursions to allow for staffing, buses, medical information and rolls to be prepared.
6 | Some sports and excursions fill up fast! Early payment together with online consent secures your child’s place. For this reason it is important to check your email daily.
