Late arrivals

My child is late for school

Arriving at school and class on time ensures that students do not miss out on important learning activities scheduled early in the day, helps students learn the importance of punctuality and routine and reduces classroom disruption.

When your child is late to school, if you are unable to accompany them to the school office please reply to the ‘absence sms’ that we will send you around 11 am. Simply reply with a detailed reason why your child is away from school and your response will be automatically entered into our Absence system.

What does your child do if they are arriving after 9 am?

Direct your child to go to the office with their Student ID Card.

Your child will swipe their ID card into the Attendance Kiosk and press the prompts on the screen, chosing their reason for being late.

Two slips will be printed - one for your child to give to their teacher and the other to give to you. If you do not receive an Absence sms from us, please sign the slip and return it back to school within seven (7) days.

If you accompany your child to the Office, you can sign the slip immediately at the counter.

Lateness is recorded as a partial absence and must be explained by parents/carers.
